ABOUT INSTITUTO AYRTON SENNA
The Ayrton Senna Institute is the fulfillment of the dream of the three-time Formula 1 champion Ayrton Senna to offer new generations of Brazilians the opportunities they need to develop their potential and become champions in school and in life. The work of the Institute focuses on education as a means for human development. That is because education is the most effective way to transform one’s potential into competencies and skills that ensure their active participation in society.
Acting since 1994 and benefiting roughly 2 million children and young people each year, the Institute develops solutions to combat the ills of public education, which prevent millions of students from successfully pursuing their studies. Its educational programs contribute to reducing illiteracy, school failure and dropout, resulting in a positive change in student learning and in the management of educational networks.
Since 2004, the Institute has integrated the worldwide UNESCO Chairs network by producing and disseminating knowledge and social technologies for human development, as well as collaborating directly with Brazil to achieve the goals proposed by the UN to ensure quality basic education to all children and young people by 2015.
