Bringing families closer to a cure for childhood cancer<\/p>\n

In Brazil, every hour there is a new case of cancer in children and adolescents. It is the disease that kills the most in the age group from 1 to 19 years old in the country, according to Inca.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

For this reason, the Ronald McDonald Institute, a non-profit organization, has been working for almost 22 years to bring families closer to curing childhood cancer and increasing the chances of curing the disease. To achieve this objective, the Ronald McDonald Institute works by promoting the structuring of specialized hospitals, hosting families who live far from hospitals, training health professionals on early diagnosis and promoting the dissemination of knowledge about the cause. Through these initiatives, the Institute supports more than 60 institutions from north to south of Brazil, providing more than 95,000 services per year.<\/p>\n

The NGO is part of the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) global charity system, present in more than 60 countries, always focusing on the health and well-being of children and families in need of support around the world. In Brazil, in addition to supporting the projects of partner institutions, we have two Global Programs: Ronald McDonald House Program focused on hosting families undergoing treatment, Ronald McDonald Family Space, which aims to make treatment less stressful and improve adherence to procedures.<\/p>\n
